Richard A. Rose

President

The founding and creative force behind Film Creations, Ltd. (FCL), Rick brings over 35 years of production experience to every project.

After growing up in New York and following graduation from the University of Denver's Film program, Rick was invited to join the prestigious Director's Guild of America.

Although this represented a tremendous opportunity, it required moving to, and working in Los Angeles, so Rick reluctantly declined the offer, moved to Tucson, and founded FCL in 1977.

As a writer and director, Rick's unique approach to storytelling helps make even the most difficult subject matter accessible and entertaining.

His cynical, offbeat approach to directing and editing enables people to relax and have fun…No matter how complex the production, or tight the schedule. This relaxed, yet professional, atmosphere always shows well on the screen.

Rick's film and television credits fill three pages (with really small type), however, career highlights include: ‘The Global Arena,' a film for AT&T on the Lake Placid Olympic Games, 'How Strong is the Wind,' a documentary considered by many to be the definitive work on the Wright Brothers, and 'The Human Experiment,' the story of the visionary Biosphere Two project.

During his career, Rick has directed three U.S. Presidents, the first man to go to the moon (Frank Borman), the first man to walk on the moon (Neil Armstrong), and the man who has boldly gone where no man has gone before, Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner).

His experience as a Director has also made Rick invaluable to producers and directors coming into Southern Arizona to work.

His knowledge of the area, the politics and the business helped assure the success of productions like ‘Three Amigos,' 'Law at Rendado,' 'The Cellar,' 'The Pursuit of D.B. Cooper,' 'The Young Riders,' 'Desperado,' 'Portrait of America,' as well as dozens of other features, national commercials and documentaries produced in the area.

Outside of work, Rick is an accomplished pilot, a Rotarian, a member of the Wings Club, AOPA and Tucson Association of Executives.

He's also on the board of numerous non-profit organizations, and he's been recognized in 'Who's Who in American Business.'
